Bender

Sharp and crisp. Nicely brown with sweetness and bitterness in perfect balance. I could drink this all day, lightness and flavor. Good to go! ID

French Press Coffee Infused French Country Ale

Thin, smooth, and easy drinking. A bit of European flavor. A bit of dark bitterness that is probably coffee, but the coffee flavor is in no way dominating. A change of pace from the hoppy beers I've been drinking, but just another damn good beer. ID

Saga IPA

Bought this because my beer store said it was highly awarded and it was $10 for a twelver not a sixer. And it is real good IPA on a budget! This bottle is the last of the twelve before I've gotten around to rate it. Bitter, oh so bitter, and solid with flavor. I'll say better than the DFH 60 minute I had yesterday. A real flavorful IPA, better than the price, so I want me some more of this! MB for great taste, less wallet. Until they get hip and make this a premium ale. Buy it in bulk, all you hopheads!

Frog's Hollow Double Pumpkin Ale

Smells like pie, and tastes sweet and spicy. Sweet and almost a champagne feel, though not crazy carbonated like the last brew I referred to as being that way. But this seems like all spice, no pumpkin. And on second thought the smell and taste is kinda offensive. Really? IBUs so low? Needs more hops! Ah, give me a DFH Punkin over this any day. ID

Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA

I just had a 60 minute, cause my girlfriend likes it, and I hadn't had one in awhile. I was not impressed. Watery, boring, and a bit unpleasant. This should be more bitter and have more flavor since this has maple syrup. And it is both, but I'm not liking the syrup flavor. OK, I'm in a shitty mood today, and had just said that DFH doesn't make a bad beer, and I think I'm gonna pan this one. Not too bad, but I'm just not impressed and I'm so used to being impressed by DFH. Too many good IPAs out there. ID

Fistmas Holiday Ale

As annoyed as I am with the neighbor who has already put up a Christmas tree way to early, it is never too early for holiday ales! This one is very mild. The spices don't dominate. Rather they are just perfectly subtle. I'm probably crazy but I thought I smelled pine needles. This is just perfectly blended, leaning toward bitterness rather than sweetness or spices. Perfect holiday ale for me. Bring on the holidays with all their stress and financial ruin. I'm getting drunk! MB

Bobcat Nutbrown Ale

A bit sweet and champagney. Very carbonated. This tastes nice, the best of a brown ale, but it is so carbonated that I'll be belching for a week. Seriously, this could be my new favorite bubbly for celebrating. But is it really beer? Experts should be contacted! Anyway I'm going ID as a beer, but MB as a champagne! If you want to drink this, find an appropriate occasion, and party like it's New Year's.

Anger Black IPA

I love everything about the look and taste of this beer! From the dark matte label to the green crown with dead tree image to the dark roasted flavor with perfect bitterness. Black IPAs used to freak my brain out with their contradictory look and flavor. But I guess I've had enough so that my brain has learned to expect this new variety. And damn, this is a perfect specimen. So roasty, just a hint of sweetness, only a hint, then burnt bitterness that just seems to be normal. This is the quintessential black IPA. Two thumbs way up for this great ale with attitude! MB And I can put these down in bulk! Gonna definitely hit up this place on my next trip through Michigan. Never thought Sawyer had more than truck stops and porn!

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

I have long wanted to find this rare seasonal treat, but this is the first year I have ever even seen this. Pays to go booze shopping on a Tuesday! Smells grainy and pumpkiny, but real pumpkin, not just fake pumpkin spices. Not really sweet at all just perfectly balanced bitterness makes this just dry smooth deliciousness. The cinnamon and nutmeg are not pronounced, as they are in most other pumpkin ales, and that is so unique. This must be the best pumpkin ale I've tried. Damn, DFH just doesn't ever seem to make a bad beer, in my book. MB

Stiegl Radler Beer with Grapefruit Soda

This is a tasty treat. Like a Mike's Lemonade, only more natural and so much better tasting. Lifts my mood with just a sip. The grapefruit flavor is so pronounced and so wonderful! When you want a beer outside the norm, and fruit flavor, this is your heaven. MB

Miles Davis' Bitches Brew

A smooth light sort of porter. A light pleasant sweetness over burnt grains. A nice bitterness, and some spices in here. Maybe a hint of lemon sourness, or maybe I'm just remembering that from an episode of Brewmasters. Anyway, no faults in this complicated beauty. MB

Fresh Hop Pale Ale

So much like a lager, rather than a pale ale. Fresh is a good way to describe it. Some hoppy flavor, but close to a mass-produced flavor, so I say ID.

Says this comes brewed with Colorado Fresh Hops! The taste is pretty neutral with hops and a bit of bitterness on the finish. This is quite bitter, but for hop flavor? I've had better this harvest. ID
