I'll try to describe what I like/not about each beverage, and rate them as well. I've used a number of scales in the past, but have decided here to go with the simplicity of a 3-point scale. Each beverage will be rated as:
MB = "Must Buy"
ID = "It'll Do"
SK = "Skunk"
Dark and roasty. A bit sweet. A tiny bit of funk. But mostly an unusual roasty flavor which I enjoy. Glad to see someone else is calling 8% "imperial" so I don't feel bad about calling my 8% Irish stout that. ID

Taking a break from drinking my homebrews to rate a beer. Wow, can't believe it's been a month since I've rated something! Nice hop aroma and green hop flavor. Very clear and a definite crispness. Not a bad deal here, but I like the silky smoothness of my homebrew better, to toot my own horn. It may just be that my days of drinking other people's beer are coming to a close. Of course curiosity will always keep me rating, but that may become the rarity rather than the norm.
