Pataskala Red X IPA

I don't know the difference between a red ale and a red IPA, but I like a hoppy red. Now, I can't even believe I'm going to say this, but that just might be too much citrus hop flavor for a red! OK, it's not a red ale, just an IPA with red color, so the hops are valid (backpedaling here). And that's not true either, 'cause the longer I swill this the more a flavor of darker malt comes through. I'm just spoiled now. "Too much hop flavor," I really fuckin' said that, didn't I? Wrong! This is great, especially if it causes me to argue with myself! What happens after a few more?! MB

Hop Revolver IPA: Hop #1 = Loral

I've never heard of the hop "loral", but it is decent. The beer is definitely loaded with it, as the label suggests. For some reason I'm feeling a Playdoh aroma coming from this. But I've been smell diesel fumes all night, so. This seems like a PA to me not an IPA because of the light color and super light flavor. Before I abruptly stopped home brewing for no discernible reason, that was my plan: a series of pale ales featuring a different hop each time. Beat to the punch yet again, oh well, story of my life.
