Galaxy Hero IPA

A nice funky IPA. I'm drinking this warm, at true ale temperature, so it exacerbates the flavor. Pretty cool. I thought I'd had this before, but I guess if I did, I didn't rate this. Came in my "League of Heroes" 12 pack. Pretty good. ID

Lupu-Luau IPA

This is an odd one. I've had coconut in a beer before, but maybe not a hopped up one. I think the two flavors kind of clash, but just a little bit. Maybe not much. I always like experiments, and Dogfish generally homers those, but this is maybe a double off the wall: almost, just not sensational, but still pretty good. ID

Husky (Mosaic) IPA

So light in color, I'd call this a pale ale. It is as thin as it looks, almost no body. It has a nice hop flavor, but not thick and gushing. Everything about this beer screams "light" and "refreshing". Great for the price! Plus now we get "Alaskan" beer in Chicago. I don't think I've seen it here before. ID++

Hop Screamer Mosaic IPA

This is pretty tasty. Hop flavor dominates. Another good example from this brewer not far from where I live. I'm going to have to make a pilgrimage soon! MB

Vengeful Spirit IPA

Always love new beers. Always love Stone (never Keystone!). So I'm excited to get this because the previous IPAs with pineapple I've tried were both great (Ballast Point & Sweetwater). This beer is just . . . Oh, a rare Stone disappointment. I like orange juice, and in lots of alcoholic drinks, but I don't know if I've ever raved about a beer with orange flavor. But as I said, pineapple, yup, yup, delicious! Here I taste NO pineapple, and NO hop flavor. I'm vengeful that Stone tricked me into this one. I love Stone, but this is nothing but disappointment. Working For The Weekend Double IPA

My first thought is to pan this as being a "double" IPA at under 8% alcohol. Man am I fuckin spoiled! As a kid, if I wanted 8% alcohol, I had to choke down malt liquor like Bull Ice! This is a good average IPA. Hoppy, but no specific gushing hop flavors. So this is just ok. ID

Blackberry IPA

Another great fruity beer from this brewer. I'm glad I picked this up. Hard to tell it is an IPA, but the sweet-tart of blackberry flavor makes this amazing. If you like a fruit beer, I recommend this one. MB

Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA

I love the art both on and inside this bottle. This unfiltered orange brew looks much like my own creation, Hop Seizure, which I haven't had the desire to brew in several years now. What has happened to me? Anyway, this is as described: juicy, and so hazy that you can taste the darkness from the cloud of hop particles still suspended in this dusk. It is a pretty damn good beer, for tasting like a homebrew. Even the slight spiciness is there. MB

JOE IPA

Quite bitter. Not too much for crazy hop flavor, but flavorful enough. A simple, slightly better than average IPA. ID

Chasin' Freshies Fresh Hop IPA 2017

Super smooth. Just a touch bitter. And a big bloom of funny hop flavor. Not quite as big as some of these new beers recently, but big enough considering it is not outrageously priced. MB

Thick Mint Imperial Stout

I'm having my dessert before dinner. And wow, this is dessert! So dark, and thick but silky smooth, almost like a mousse. There's a hint of chocolate, but it mostly feels like a nice dark stout. And then there's that gentle kiss of mint. When I put my nose to the glass to take a sip, it's like I just opened a box of girl scout cookies! Pretty fuckin fabulous, and it's a beer! And with what this is packing, I should be well buzzed up before dinner. This is hands down my favorite new stout! Why the hell not? MB+
