Stone Imperial Russian Stout

Aroma of dark roasted grains, about the same smell as if you had opened a bag of grain. Very little carbonation, and noticably thick on the first pour. Sweet with alcohol taste at the back of the throat, but not at all unpleasant. But still not one to be guzzled, and I'm worried at this late hour if I can manage to put down a whole bottle. Really warms the throat. As a hophead now, I'm not one to rave about this dark a beer as I would have ten years ago, but I do think this is good, I just don't have much in memory to compare with. When a porter just isn't dark enough, go imperial. ID
